Experience Pah Tempe at our first Open House!
Sunday, September 16, 2012 from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM (CST)
We invite you to be our guest and to personally experience Pah Tempe Hot Springs and its amazing healing waters!
What is Pah Tempe Hot Springs?
Pah Tempe is a special, sacred, natural oasis of healing mineral waters nestled 20-minutes away from Zion National Park in the southwestern corner of Utah. Over the past 28 years we’ve struggled to keep Pah Tempe’s water flowing, open, and accessible to the public, but we’re now losing that battle--and we need your help! We know that when people first experience Pah Tempe in person, they invariably fall in love with this ancient healing sanctuary, so we’re starting things off with a special gathering of friends and colleagues with whom we’d love to share this place.
When's the Open House?
Sunday, September 16th, 2012, 8am-10pm. But, feel free to come or leave at any time within! We've tried to make this Open House event flexible enough in terms of timing that it could be experienced many ways:
- As a day-trip from Las Vegas
- As a 1-night overnight trip from Las Vegas
- As a weekend trip from Las Vegas, the Bay Area, or Los Angeles, combined with a day of exploring at Zion National Park
We wish we could host overnight guests besides camping at Pah Tempe, but the world-renown Bed n' Breakfast we operated was forced to close in 2002 during the Water District's last round of pipeline blasting. But don't despair! If you're planning on staying overnight, there are great options, whether you're looking for a budget choice or a cozy getaway. Just scroll to the bottom of the page for details.
We're inviting include technologists, yoga instructors, natural healers, nature- and wilderness-lovers of all stripes, and we'd love for you to invite anyone else you know who you're sure would love these wonderful waters!
What will we be doing?
Well, obviously we hope you'll get to experience the hot springs grottos, and that alone is worth the trip. We're also putting together a flexible program of sessions to explore, from talks on sustainability and technology to yoga.
ITINERARY FOR SEPT 16: Come for the full day and evening or just part of it and please join any, all or none of these scheduled events that will be taking place throughout the day. The grotto pools and main swimming pool will be open and available for you to enjoy from 8am-10pm. And of course, these may change.

By default, you'll need to find your own way to this little paradise (we have lots of parking). If we get lots of demand, we may be able to arrange a shuttle bus from and back to Las Vegas. Let us know if you'd be interested in this option!
Best local bet: We've long maintained a "10% discount for Pah Tempe guests" deal with Peter, the manager (make sure to ask for him!) at Comfort Inn Zion (click for booking details). This option is close to Pah Tempe, but is not itself located in particularly beautiful surroundings.
More Luxury: Springdale, Rockville and Virgin are a 25 minute drive from Pah Tempe, but lie near the mouth of Zion Canyon and the entrance to the Park, affording amazing views. Zion Canyon Visitors Bureau maintains listings of all of the good local Bed n' Breakfasts (click for contact info) and Hotels (click for contact info). If this is your plan, book quickly! For some reason, September is one of the busiest months in Zion Canyon!
We can't wait to welcome you at Pah Tempe!
